We’re all kind of hoping the snow melts and the single track dries up a little so we can get out and hit all the high lines this time of year, but when the snow flies next fall, we might not be as bummed as usual thanks to Nism Snow Bikes. With the right set up you could keep riding all those trails all winter long. Want to help founder Royce McDaniel keep his ski bike dreams rolling click here for his Fundable project.

Want to see what it’s like battling with Mark Cavendish for a win in Stage 8 of the Amgen Tour of California? Shimano has provided just that with up close and personal footage from their Shimano Sport Cameras mounted under Koen de Kort’s saddle and on John Degenkolb’s bars. Nice to see that the pros dice around just as much as the Cat 3 racers at your local crit. They’re just better at it . . . and way, way faster.

When we watch the pros in downhill finals it’s easy to forget that it’s not the first time they’ve made a run down the course. Here are a few practice runs from Ty Bowmaker. Looks like of muddy, no?

Like many metro areas around the world, cycling in traffic can be dicey. Recent legislation enacted in 22 states (Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin. Pennsylvania has a 4-foot passing law) require cars to stay at least three feet away from cyclists when passing.
To help drivers better understand what three feet is, Houston, Texas’ Dan Morgan has mounted a flag that protrudes out three feet from the back of his bicycle. He then points a camera at it and records while he rides. When people hit his flag, he turns them (and their license numbers) into the police. Yeah, he goes a bit over the line (“that’s the purpose of the flag, asshole”), but sometimes it takes people like Dan to really ride a point home.

The Smith MTB adds another chapter from their Andes Pacifico Enduro race report (in Chile) and this time there is blood. . . pulsing, gaping, deep gash blood and some moaning. Know how that feels? Sure you do!
