Pivot Updates Mach 6 Carbon

by editors on October 4, 2017

Pivot’s  Mach 6 Carbon got an update. The new version is longer, lower and according to Pivot “sets a new benchmark for enduro / aggressive trail bikes.”

The new design benefits directly from Pivot’s extensive gravity design experience – the perfect combination of progressive geometry and uncompromising pedaling capability – making it the right choice for dropping into black-diamond terrain and hitting technical features at race pace. From peak to podium, the Mach 6 Carbon is enduro performance, redefined.

Yamaha Speeds The E-pocalypse

by editors on September 14, 2017

In one more bit of evidence that fatamerica is winning, Yamaha is dropping e-bikes on us at Interbike according to a press release posted on VitalMTB.com.

Yamaha Motor Company, Ltd. (YMC) launched the world’s first electrically power assisted bicycle in 1993 and has since produced more than 4 million drive units and sold over 2 million Yamaha power assist bicycles. YMC supplies class-leading e-Bike Systems to select OEM partners worldwide.

In other words, this isn’t their first rodeo. But don’t be fooled. E-bikes are just another problem, not a solution for anything other than the possibility of safer Supercross. Just think how much safer Supercross would be if the riders were forced to ride 55 pound e-bikes. . .

Oakley Rolls Out Helmets and Kits

by editors on August 30, 2017

Oakley has always made great performance eyewear for doing almost anything, but in cycling eyewear was about as far as they went. Today that’s changed as the company announced full “head-to-ankle” coverage for cyclists. The new line includes kits, socks, gloves and a complete line of boss looking helmets including this AERO5 Redline featuring MIPS technology.

“Two wheels are in Oakley’s DNA. We began with a grip, and we have expanded since,” said Olaf Dunz, Global Marketing Director at Oakley. “Applying what the brand has learned in eyewear – from protection from the elements to optimized aerodynamics – we are now diving deeper into cycling with the same goal we started with: optimize rider interaction with the world around them and improve performance.”

We’re looking forward to checking it all out in more detail. For all the official details from Oakley, including a look at their appropriately all black kits, follow the jump.
