BWR Cedar City Is NOT Cancelled

The Belgian Waffle Ride Cedar City (The Hell of the South. . . Utah) is on for October 17, 2020. Here’s the word from the organizers:

We have been busy working with our partners, local health officials and city managers, organizing best practices and adjusting formats for our upcoming event in the Canyon Belgian Waffle Ride Cedar City, which is planned for October 17, 2020.

So if you’re in for an epic gravel race, then this is your event. There’s also a store full of pretty cool cams Belgian Waffle merch that is live and ready for orders. Click here for the store or here for info on the ride.

Time To Sagan-Up Roadie-oh Fans

This fall, November 8-10, 2019, Southern California cyclists will get the chance to ride with old three titles, himself, Peter Sagan as he brings his Sagan Fondo Gran Roadie-Oh to San Diego County.

The ride will feature a Friday Gala for Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and Outride Foundation, a Saturday Sagan Fondo Expo and VIP event and the Gran Roadie-Oh on Sunday with three different distances for riders to choose from (50 km, 100 km and 150 km), beginning at 7:00am. The unique routes take riders through the hills and valleys of beautiful North County San Diego. Sagan is opting for the longest 150-km/93-mile route. Both Saturday and Sunday’s festivities will take place at North City in San Marcos and benefit CAF.

For those who don’t know, this event is being produced by the same crew that created the world famously brutal Belgian Waffle Ride  so you know it will be good, plus, Peto Sagan. Right? When was the last time you got to ride with a 3X World Champion? We’re guessing it’s been a while. So, click the link for all the details and get registered. 2019 Quick n Dirty Summer Series

San Diego County, California’s summer grass-roots mountain bike race season kicks into gear on Thursday May 9, 2019 with the the opening round of the seven-event QnD Summer Series

There are a couple fun changes for this year that will add even more excitement to the mix. . . The expert men category will have to contend wit the “dude, where’s my car” loop, which is certain impact the dynamic of the race, and we’ve also added a drop bar category to the schedule for all those that want to tackle our course on some skinny tires.

Races go down every Thursday night at the Lake Hodges Boat Ramp parking lot. Registration opens at 4 PM, kids race is at 5:15, and racers roll at 6 PM. Register ahead and you can show up at the last minute. We were just out on the “Dude, where’s my car” loop and it will offer some serious, single track climbing action. 2019 Breakfast Burrito Ride May 3

Eliel is inviting the cycling community to come together for the Breakfast Burrito Ride on Friday May 3, 2019 to help raise money for The Pablove Foundation.

Today, 46 families were told their child has cancer. When one child is diagnosed, an entire community is forever impacted. Join us for BBR on May 3rd to benefit The Pablove Foundation that strives to improve the lives of the children, families, and communities affected by pediatric cancer. . . Shifting gears, frothing cold brew’s, and the smell of bacon on a Friday morning; what more do you need to get excited about the Breakfast Burrito Ride? Roll out and enjoy some coastal miles of smiles with local cycling clubs and industry partners while fundraising for The Pablove Foundation.

Ride The Rancho Guejito With SDMBA

SoCal mountain bikers will get a rare opportunity to ride North County San Diego’s historic Rancho Guejito as the San Diego Mountain Biking Association hosts their Ride the Rancho fund raiser on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

This is also the first ever cycling event at Rancho Guejito, a 23,000 acre working ranch in the Escondido Area. There will be a fully guided 15-mile, social paced ride suitable for MTB’s or Gravel bikes. The ride, with around 1000 feet of elevation gain, will follow ranch roads through pastures and past ancient oaks, up shaded valleys, and will include rest stops at two historic points of interest including the Maxcy Winery (est.1850’s) and other adobe ruins. . . This adventure will be followed by a delicious catered BBQ by Bar None BBQ and will feature Rancho Guejito Vineyard wines and Rouleur Brewing Company beer. Live music and lots of Old California hospitality included! Tickets are $110 with proceeds going to support SDMBA trail projects and advocacy efforts.

Filthy 50 Registration Opening Soon

This fall don’t miss out on Southern California’s premiere long distance dirt ride as the Quick n’ Dirty Filthy 50 celebrates its fifth anniversary with a new course for 2018.

The 50 mile course is jam packed with plenty of distance, elevation and terrain to challenge even the most fit of MTBers. Plus, there’s a new lollipop section to the course that you’ll dig exploring as you hit the furthest reaches our scenic track. . . If you’re not up for the 50 mile challenge, jump in on the 30 mile version – a truncated trip out many of the same trails and you get back to the venue to enjoy the post party even sooner. Win, win!

The Ride For Rwanda Needs Volunteers

Orange County, California’s annual Ride For Rwanda mountain bike epic (April 28, 2018) can’t be done without hundreds of volunteers and organizers still need need more volunteers. That’s where you come in.

Ride for Rwanda is a Earth Moving experience delivering life through bike to African communities. An Army of Amazing Volunteers make it happen! You literally change the world by volunteering, or have family members and friends come join the fun. . . . Each of our volunteers gets the opportunity to impact the world, serve local cycling community, plus get free food, event t-shirt, and beer! (If you are 21 or older)

Currently needed are crossing guards, course guides, and a long list of other options for various times and locations. Seriously, free food, T-shirt, and beverages? The Sagebrush Safari MTB Race Is Back

Worth Western mountain bikers rejoice. Thanks to the efforts of the Quick n’ Dirty crew the legendary Sagebrush Safari (XC and new Super D) in Campo, California is back.

The 26 mile XC course is as challenging as it is scenic and will be a complete test of your fitness and abilities. Of course, we’ll have categories for all ages and abilities and even a 18 mile race course for those seeking a little less of a challenge. . . The Super D course has all the lumps and bumps you need with some solid pedaly parts thrown in for good measure. In total, it’s a it’s a weekend you won’t want to miss and promises to be one of the best races anywhere this season.

It all goes down March 24 -25, 2018. With XC on Saturday and Super D on Sunday. Camping is available onsite. This is one of the coolest “real” mountain bike race courses on the West Coast and includes little of everything for every body.
