GRAVEL WHEELSETS
High-end carbon wheel company’s handbuilt aluminum gravel wheels start under $700 with i9 hubs.

Brandon, FL – (June 1, 2021) High-end carbon-fiber wheel manufacturer Atomik Carbon today announces its ALGR series of handbuilt aluminum wheelsets for gravel bikes. The Atomik ALGR29 is a premium aluminum gravel rim available in 700c and 650b options as rim-only or as complete wheelsets built around Industry Nine 1/1 hubs* with Sapim D-Light spokes. Atomik’s popular BERD Ultimate build will also be available as an optional upgrade.

Starting at only $699.99 for a complete wheelset, the Atomik ALGR29 is the only handbuilt gravel wheel laced to American-made hubs at its price point. Designed to provide premium performance and unparalleled value for modern gravel riding, the ALGR is crafted from 6066-T6 aluminum for an optimal strength-to-weight ratio. “The ALGR29 is a no-nonsense premium gravel wheel
without the premium price tag.”

Both 700c and 650b versions feature a 29-millimeter outer diameter, and 24.5-millimeter inner diameter to accommodate the most popular grave tires. All Atomik rims come tubeless ready.

“Based on the success of our aluminum mountain bike wheels, we decided to make that same value and performance available to gravel riders,” says co-owner and founder Wayne Lee. “The ALGR29 is a no-nonsense premium gravel wheel without the premium price tag.”

Like its aluminum mountain bike wheels, Atomik is offering a Carbon Upgrade Program for the ALGR29 complete wheelset. If within two years from the time of purchase, the original owner chooses to upgrade to one of Atomik’s carbon gravel rim offerings, Atomik will rebuild the wheel using existing hubs, new spokes and nipples, all labor and return shipping—at no cost to the customer with the purchase of carbon rims.

“Look at the ALGR29 as a lower cost of admission to the premium wheel market,” says Lee. “When someone is ready to take the next step and go carbon, we want to make that as easy as possible.”

Weights come in at 420 grams and 440 grams per rim for 650b and 700c diameters. Complete wheelsets tip the scales at 1,609 and 1,659 grams respectively. ALGR29 Ultimate Wheelsets with BERD spokes drop the weight to 1,405 for 650b and 1,465 grams for 700c.

Atomik aluminum gravel rims are backed by a two-year limited warranty.

The Atomik ALGR29 is available now as complete wheelsets with Industry 9 1/1 Classic Road hubs starting at $699.99 or rim-only options starting at $99.99 each through local bike shops and at AtomikCarbon.com.
