Four By 3000: The RAAM Documentary

by editors on May 30, 2017

In June 2016 cyclists Kurt Broadhag, Chris DeMarchi, Phil Tinstman, and Tony Restuccia set out to race across America in the 2016 edition of the RAAM. In addition to racing, they wanted to document the race with a film. They did just that. The film is titled Four By 3000: A Journey Through The Toughest Bike Race In The World.

Four by 3000 offers an unprecedented look into the interworking of the Race Across America. Shot in stunning 4k filmmakers captured the drama following the team set in front of the most amazing scenery found across the U.S. The film opens with a brief description of the year long process that goes into competing in RAAM and immediately moves into the action.

The race is over, the film was shot and edited, but the Team Working Nation crew wants to maximize the marketing of their film so they’ve turned to Kickstarter. Their hope is to get the film seen outside of cycling. If this is something you’d like to support, please Click here for their Kickstarter page, or follow the jump for the official word.

FOUR BY 3000 FILM PROJECT

A ONE-OF-A-KIND DOCUMENTARY WHICH FOLLOWS A TEAM OF FOUR FRIENDS TAKING PART IN THE TOUGHEST BIKE RACE IN THE WORLD – THE RACE ACROSS AMERICA, RELEASING IN JUNE 2017.

June 16, 2016 Oceanside, California – Team Working nation is staging to take part in Race Across America. Racing from Oceanside, California to Annapolis, Maryland teams of riders must complete over 3089 miles with 175,000 feet of climbing in under six days to have a chance of victory. Once the starting gun goes off time does not stop until teams cross the finish line.

For Team Working Nation, they have lofty goals – as returning champions they not only want to defend their title but also set a world record for fastest time crossing the country on bike.

Throughout the six days of racing the team is forced to deal with vehicle breakdowns, crew conflicts, severe weather, and family tragedy while trying to stay focused on their goals. Leading to the tension is the nonstop caravan of support vehicles and crew that must live out of vans for six days with little to no sleep. Follow their journey with never before seen footage in a story about the human spirit and brotherhood/sisterhood all who take part in the event share.

Four By 3000 is completely shot and edited. The new Kickstarter campaign is aimed at funding marketing for the film and expanding the distribution to include exhibition at festivals around the world. The increased distribution will allow the film to reach a much broader market allowing more people to witness and feel what it is like to take part in the sport we all love. Backers who pledge to the new campaign are being offered perks which range from movie credits, branded shirts, posters, and signed memorabilia, as well as some truly exclusive collectibles and packages.

More specifics on the documentary such as Kickstarter details, information on future major city premieres, and film festival dates can be found at http://www.Fourby3000.com as they become available.
