Magura Recalls MT6 & MT8 Disk Brakes

by editors on March 21, 2013

Magura BrakeMagura, the company behind the MT 6 and MT 8 hydraulic brakes are recalling them because they “can fail in low temperatures,” according to a post on the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

We recommend that you stop using these products with immediate effect. In the few cases where we have experienced this fault it is apparent that a loss of brake pressure can occur when the brake is exposed to very cold temperatures. The safety of our customers is our primary concern and any potential risk to the user due to quality issues, as in this case, leads to an immediate corrective action. . . MT 6 and MT 8 brake systems with manufacture date codes between March 1, 2011 and May 31, 2012 are being recalled. A date code in format Y/MM/DD between 10301 and 20531 is located on the caliper. Additionally, all MT 6 and MT 8 brake systems without date codes are being recalled.

Better get those in, if you’re running them.
