Need something to fiddle with on your iPad? And really, who doesn’t? Michael Embacher’sCyclopedia (which came out in 2011) has been updated to include much, much more cycle porn and may be exactly what you’re looking for, according to a post on Core77.
This new CYCLEPEDIA offers an expanded tour round many more of Michael Embacher’s unique personal collection of two-wheeled rarities. As before every bicycle is beautifully displayed via the app’s 360º spins, but now the zoom magnifications are in even higher resolution allowing you to compare and appreciate each machine’s fine detail, innovation and design more closely than ever. The new CYCLEPEDIA also brings you Sir Paul Smith’s personal collection of rare cycling Jerseys, plus unique movie clips in which Sir Paul entertainingly explains his lifelong passion for bicycles.
These may be the funniest arm warmers ever. All Hail The Black Market says they’ll have their Wizard Staff Arm Warmers for sale this week. We’re guessing they will sell a few of them.
Attempting to approach the calendar with a different theme every year, the 2013 calendar features models superimposed with the components that they race. Now in the largest format ever, the calendar measures 68 x 40 cm (27 x 16″). The double sided format, popular in the 2012 calendar, pairs a tastefully sexy shot with a racing photograph, providing a full spectrum of the professional lives of each model.
Okay, sure. We’ll go with that. The calendar is selling for an outrageous $50.00. If you’re into hot cycling girls, guess that’s the price you pay.
“The crew at Keep A Breast are innovators when it comes to incorporating health education into the lives of active people,” says Kevin Casillo, SPY marketing manager. “SPY aims to give back wherever we can, and it doesn’t get any better than partnering with a local non-profit that’s causing world-wide awareness about an issue that impacts millions every year.”
We’ve been hearing about compression for a while, but never had it spelled out as quickly and effectively as when we spoke to 2XU’s Brand and Sports Marketing Director Johnny West. He explained how the calf is improved with compression socks and went on to tell us that 2XU’s cycling kit (seen here) is currently illegal according to UCI rules (fashion doping?) That must mean it’s good, right?
After a week in Las Vegas (September 17-21, 2012) at Interbike 2012 we feel like we were just getting a handle on where everything was. It was a huge show filled with wondrous things of all sizes and shapes. Here is a little of what we saw, people we talked to, and booths we stumbled through during our tour. Enjoy the ride.
