The Mammoth Mountain Mountain Bike Park got a few new things going this weekend. First, on Friday, June 21, 2013 they opened Pipeline (yeah, that’s it in this video). They also opened the Gondola for the summer MTB shred season. Guess it’s time to get on it.
The grand daddy of MTB mountains, Mammoth, will open at least 12 trails including Downtown, UpTown, Big Ring, Paper Route, Juniper, Timber Ridge, Shotgun, Lower Pipeline, Lower Bullet Lakes Trail and Pioneer Practice Loop, on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Yes, that’s this Saturday.
As a plus, the mountain is still open for snowboarding (and skiing) so it’s kind of a two-for-one kind of weekend this Memorial day. Stay and bike packages start at just $69 a person. Click the link for more info.
Fox riders Kirt Voreis and Tyler McCaul show the world just how good the mountain bike trails around Bend, Oregon are. And no, few of us will ride them this smoothly, but it’s still worth a try.
Thanks to Specialized for a glimpse into the 2013 Sea Otter Downhill finals. It funny watching all the downhillers struggle to come up with complimentary euphemisms for “this is the most boring, silliest downhill we ride all year.” For example, the top six guys finished in the same half second.
Fenway Partners, the New York-based private equity fund that owns Giro Helmetparent company Easton-Bell is reportedly putting the company up for sale, according to a story on Reuters.

Legendary actor and action hero Charles Bronson reportedly proclaimed his love for WTB’s new Vigilante endure tire Monday April 1, 2013 after an impromptu shred fest down Santa Barbara’s Tunnel Trail.
