2017 Oregon Gravel Grinder Series

The old Gorge Roubaix has been magically transformed into the 2017 Oregon Gravel Grinder Series and will include races in The Dalles, Bend, and Mr. Hood. Each event, which kicks off April 2, 2017 in The Dalles, Oregon, will feature at least two distances to choose from.

We have selected the most scenic, challenging, and quality roads to be found in the state of Oregon. Many are iconic and are included as part of Oregon Scenic Bikeways. These are signature roads that are unique and that you will find no were else. Each ride comes complete with chip timing that allows for immediate results posted onsite and online as well as interim timing points and competitions along the way. Well stocked aid stations, porta potties and well signed courses mean that you can focus completely on the task of finishing strong. Each has a post event party were riders can bask in their accomplishment and trade stories with friends and fellow riders of their experience along the way.

Gorge Gravel Grinder – Sunday, April 2 – The Dalles, Oregon
Small Grind 41 miles
Medium Grind 65 miles
Big Grind 96 Miles

The Gorge Gravel Grinder, previously the Gorge Roubaix, is where it all started. Located in The Dalles, Oregon this is one of the best locations in the Northwest for spring riding. Courses take riders through rolling wheat lands that surround the Eastern Columbia River Gorge. Riders will travel over sections of well packed, smooth and fast gravel intermixed with beautiful asphalt. Spring rains provide good moisture keeping the dust down. No portion of the courses exceeds double digits grade for climbing or descending .

High Desert Gravel Grinder – Sunday, June 4 – Bend, Oregon
No Small Grind
Medium Grind 70 miles
Big Grind 97 miles

Central Oregon is a mecca for road cycling for a reason. The diversity of scenery will keep even those with the shortest attention spans completely mesmerized. The ride starts at the Bendistilery one of Oregon’s top makers of vodka and spirits. Courses will take riders throughout the high desert regions with a short trip for the Big Grinder riders to the top of the Cascade Mountain Range via the famous McKenzie Pass. Expect stunning views and scenery that change with each mile. Moderate grades and fast gravel roads make for an exciting ride.

Mt. Hood Gravel Grinder – Saturday, July 8 – Mt Hood, Oregon
Small Grind 42 miles
Medium Grind 56 miles
Big Grind 86 miles

This amazing course takes riders deep into the Mt. Hood National Forest utilizing paved and gravel logging roads that were built back when timber was king. These rarely traveled gems take you through stands of old growth forest as well as exhilarating views from the flanks or Mt. Hood. Big Grinder riders have the added bonus of being able to circumnavigate the entire mountain on the ride seeing all sides of one of the nation’s most iconic peaks.
