Garneau Sponsors Backcountry.com Team

Seems like everyone is getting in on the Backcountry.com Professional Mountain Bike Team program. now, Louis Garneau has announced that (he) they will be the official helmet, show, and apparel sponsor of the team. Or did we already mention that in our last post? For the official word from Garneau, follow the jump.Louis Garneau is proud to be the helmet, shoe, and apparel sponsor of the Backcountry.com Professional Mountain Bike Team. The team will compete in major North American cross-country and stage races throughout the year, including the Sea Otter Classic next month in California, the Whiskey 50, the BC Bike Race and the 2014 Pro XCT Series.

The team will wear Garneau Custom Apparel, Course and Quartz II helmets and T-Flex 2LS shoes.

“We make amazing mountain bike gear, but we haven’t invested as much into this segment. This has become a priority for us for 2014. We can build off of our expertise for comfort and performance found in every piece of gear we craft,” said Pierre Perron, Global Marketing Director at Louis Garneau. “The Backcountry.com Professional Mountain Bike Team, head to toe in Garneau, is the caliber of athletes we love to work with.”

Roster includes 2 men and 2 women:

Chloe Woodruff, 26, Prescott AZ: 10 podium visits in 2013 at Pro XCT events, 3 STXC Pro XCT wins, 5X World Championship member. 11X collegiate champ and current athlete coach.

Evelyn Dong, 27, Park City UT: 6 podium ProXCT visits, 5th US XC national championships, 2nd GoPro Games, 6 XC victories. Former Nordic skier and copy writer for Backcountry.com.

Justin Lindine, 30, Ogden UT: 1st, Transylvania Epic SR, 4 Pro XCT top ten results. Nationally ranked top cyclocross rider.

Jason Sager, 39, Ogden UT, Team Manager: 2nd GC Sudety SR, Poland, 1 stage win. 4th, GC Mongolian Bike Challenge, 2 stage wins, Mongolia, 10 XC victories.
