Yamaha Speeds The E-pocalypse

In one more bit of evidence that fatamerica is winning, Yamaha is dropping e-bikes on us at Interbike according to a press release posted on VitalMTB.com.

Yamaha Motor Company, Ltd. (YMC) launched the world’s first electrically power assisted bicycle in 1993 and has since produced more than 4 million drive units and sold over 2 million Yamaha power assist bicycles. YMC supplies class-leading e-Bike Systems to select OEM partners worldwide.

In other words, this isn’t their first rodeo. But don’t be fooled. E-bikes are just another problem, not a solution for anything other than the possibility of safer Supercross. Just think how much safer Supercross would be if the riders were forced to ride 55 pound e-bikes. . .
